About the Exhibit

OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center presents Passage, an exhibition of paintings and sculpture by Emily Jung Miller. Raised on Kauai and based in Portland since 2014, Miller's diverse creative practices share her lifelong passion for the sea and her multi-generational heritage that has drawn nourishment from Pacific and Atlantic coastlines.

"In these works, I consider the passage of time, movement through passageways, passages in our life stories, the passing on of loved ones, the passing on of knowledge, and the passage of ships, people, fish, and fishing gear across oceans."
