A colorful winter sunset reflects in the waterfront windows at Stonington Harbor, on Deer Isle in Downeast Maine. The Stonington Opera House, a landmark building since the early 1900s, stands near the center of town with a view over the harbor. A light blanket of snow covers the rooftops and steep granite bedrock of this busy fishing town, now quiet with the first snows of winter.
