Net Fishers #293

Net Fishers, Noho 'ana — Kauai life - fishing, fishermen, rocks, net artwork by Emily Miller
Two local Kauai fishermen extract their catch from the net on the shoreline lava rocks. Fishermen in Hawaii have favored net fishing since ancient times. The fishermen's modern accessories and nylon net are minimal cues to remind us that this is a modern scene, otherwise unchanged for hundreds of years.

"Net Fishers" is included in the Art in Public Places collection of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
