May's full moon is known as the Dragon Moon, Bright Moon, Flower Moon, Hare Moon, and Milk Moon in various Native American and Chinese cultures.
The dragon is a powerful benevolent force in Chinese culture. In May, the ancient Dragon constellation is highest in the sky, and the light of this full moon was thought to bring vitality and joy. Stories told under the light of the Dragon Moon would never be forgotten.
The May 2021 full moon was also a lunar eclipse.

The original drawing is framed and mounted on handmade paper I created for the 1000 Moons project.
