The rope used to make these baskets was rescued from the beach near Seaside, Oregon. It included a line of white plastic floats stamped with Japanese characters. "Ukidama" means fishing floats in Japanese and is usually used to describe the netted glass floats that were used until the 1960s, now replaced by plastic.

Each basket includes a unique accent stone from my collection of beachcombing treasures.
